Hot Yoga - The Bikram Method

The Hot 60, 72, and 90 follow the Bikram Method - a highly therapeutic yoga series performed in a heated room. The series is a sequence of 26 postures and two breathing exercises that is suitable for all ages and all levels of ability. These postures work synergistically and cumulatively to bring health and vitality to the body and mind.

Through a regular practice you will transform your life to not only benefit yourself, but those around you. Some of the benefits include:

Our Bikram Method classes include Hot 60 (60 minutes, also known as Power Hour), Hot 72 (72 minutes), and Hot 90 (Traditional 90 minutes). We also offer Music Class and Advanced Class. Music Class is a fun way to liven up your yoga practice! The instructor plays music while leading you through the Bikram Method series. Advanced Class is a fast-paced class that goes through the advanced series of 84 postures. To attend Advanced Class, we recommend that you talk with an instructor to make sure your practice is ready.

The heat is an important part of the yoga therapy. It allows your body to warm and soften up so that you can do the postures safely. The heat encourages a purifying sweat, which releases toxins and rejuvenates skin. Also, the heat teaches you how to breathe, how to hydrate your body, and how to take care of yourself both in and out of class.

Bikram Method Classes

Bikram Method Class: The Bikram Method is a highly therapeutic yoga series performed in a heated room. The series is a sequence and consists of 26 postures and two breathing exercises that is suitable for all ages and all levels of ability. These postures work synergistically and cumulatively to bring health and vitality to the body and mind. We have Traditional (90 minutes), Hot72 (72 minutes), and Power Hour (60 minutes) Bikram Method Classes available.

Music Class – Basic Method: Music Class is a fun way to liven up your yoga practice! The instructor plays music while leading you through the Bikram Method series in a heated room. It is recommended that you take at least 5 Bikram Method classes (Traditional, Hot72, or PowerHour) before coming to Music Class because the teacher will give minimal verbal instruction.

Intermediate Class: The Intermediate Class combines the Bikram Method beginning series with parts from the advanced series. This class is accessible to those with a regular Bikram Method yoga practice and is a fun way to try some new postures.

Advanced Class – Advanced Class is a fast-paced class that goes through the Bikram Method advanced series of 84 postures. To attend this class, we recommend that you regularly take three Bikram Method classes per week and talk with an instructor to make sure your practice is ready.

Studio Etiquette

For the preservation of our Yoga Community please follow the studio Etiquette:

  • No shoes, gum, cell phones or personal belongings in the yoga room.
  • Come to class with clean feet and body. No perfume.
  • Listen to the teacher and move together with the class.
  • Water only in yoga room.
  • Move quietly in the classroom and remain silent during and after class.
  • Avoid leaving the room during class.
  • Practice stillness in between postures.
  • No hand towels.

Prior to Class

  • New students, please arrive 10-15 minutes early.
  • Doors lock promptly at class start time. Arrive early.
  • Bring a bottle of water, yoga mat and large towel. These items available to rent at studio.
  • Wear light workout clothing. You will be doing a lot of sweating.
  • Hydration is very important, so drink plenty of water during the day.
  • Avoid eating 2 to 3 hours before class.
